Richmond Ladies’ Choir

Musicality was formed by member Jean Robinson in 2006 and has developed from a small ensemble to a choir of thirty plus members, primarily from Richmond and the surrounding Dales.

The choir’s repertoire ranges from spirituals, folk, pop and show songs to sacred pieces and classical music from madrigals to the present day.

The choir perform a number of concerts each year in a range of venues from local churches to theatres, stately homes and Ripon Cathedral and has raised thousands of pounds for local good causes and national charities.


Gillian Ash is a local primary school teacher. She is organist at Richmond Methodist Church and in demand as an accompanist for choral societies, choirs and individual performers. She also writes songs for children and adults.

In 2009 Gillian became the choir’s permanent musical director and accompanist and under her direction Musicality has grown in popularity and reputation.


Mondays 7-9pm at Richmond Methodist Church. Rehearsals take place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and members also enjoy a number of social events.
